‘Reacher’ Spinoff ‘The Untitled Neagley Project’ Officially Ordered to Series at Prime Video

'Reacher' Universe: 'The Untitled Neagley Project' Officially Ordered to Series at Prime Video

Prime Video is officially expanding the “Reacher” universe with a new spinoff series, tentatively titled The Untitled Neagley Project. The show will star Maria Sten, who will reprise her role as Frances Neagley, a private investigator and trusted ally of Jack Reacher.

The spinoff follows Neagley as she embarks on a mission to seek justice after a close friend from her past dies under suspicious circumstances. Using her skills from her time as part of the Army’s 110th Special Investigators Unit and what she learned from Reacher, she sets out to uncover a dangerous and menacing evil.

Amazon MGM Studios head Jennifer Salke confirmed the series order during Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers, an event held in London, where Sten also shared her enthusiasm for the character. “I love Neagley,” Sten remarked. “She’s fun, quirky, and full of complexity.” She also added that Neagley’s character remains part of the broader Reacher tone but with a unique, standalone narrative.

Developed by Reacher creator Nick Santora and Law & Order veteran Nicholas Wootton, the pair will serve as co-showrunners for the spinoff, produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios. Though the release date is still under wraps, the series will be available on Prime Video in over 240 countries.

Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, shared the studio’s excitement: “Expanding the Reacher universe was a natural step. With Maria Sten at the forefront, we’re confident this new series will honor the Reacher legacy while bringing fresh energy to both new and longtime fans.”

Sten’s portrayal of Neagley made waves in Reacher Season 1, even though the character didn’t appear in the original novel The Killing Floor. She returned in a more prominent role for the show’s second season, and her popularity with fans helped pave the way for her own spinoff. Alan Ritchson, who stars as Jack Reacher, is expected to make guest appearances in the new series.

“I’m beyond thrilled to explore Neagley’s world further,” Sten said, adding that she’s excited for viewers to dive into the mystery and complexity of her character.

The spinoff marks another high-profile project for Skydance Television, which has collaborated with Prime Video on other hit series like Jack Ryan and The Runarounds. Dana Goldberg, Chief Creative Officer at Skydance, praised Santora and Wootton for their successful adaptation of Lee Child’s novels for television, stating that fans are in for another exciting chapter in the Reacher universe.
