Reese Antoinette Joins ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Cast as Showtime’s Killer Universe Expands

The Dexter universe just got a little bolder.

Reese Antoinette is stepping into the dark world of Dexter: Resurrection. She’ll appear as Joy, the strong-willed daughter of Blessing Kamara (played by Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine), adding even more familial layers to a show already known for its twisted ties and moral messiness.

Production on the follow-up to Dexter: New Blood kicked off this January in New York, and the series is gunning for a summer premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime. Michael C. Hall is back in the title role, and he’s not coming alone—this next chapter is bringing familiar faces and heavyweight newcomers along for the ride.

Returning to the blood-stained scene are:

  • David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista
  • Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan
  • James Remar as Harry Morgan, Dexter’s late father and ever-present conscience
  • David Magidoff as Teddy Reed of the Iron Lake Police Department

Also back—and sure to stir the pot—are Dexter OGs John Lithgow and Jimmy Smits, reprising their iconic roles as The Trinity Killer and Miguel Prado.

Joining Antoinette in the new batch of guest stars is Ozark and The Outsider alum Marc Menchaca, who will portray Red. He joins a growing cast of talent that reads like a who’s who of prestige drama and cult TV favorites.

Here’s a quick rundown of who’s new and who’s who:

  • Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine stars as Blessing Kamara, a rideshare driver with infectious optimism and fierce loyalty to his family.
  • Kadia Saraf plays Detective Claudette Wallace, whose laser focus and high standards make her a force on the force.
  • Dominic Fumusa is Detective Melvin Oliva, Claudette’s partner and low-key work soulmate.
  • Emilia Suárez takes on Elsa Rivera, Harrison’s co-worker and trusted friend at the Empire Hotel.
  • Peter Dinklage appears as Leon Prater, a philanthropic billionaire with skeletons stacked behind his carefully polished image.
  • Uma Thurman plays Charley, Leon’s head of security and a former Special Ops officer whose loyalty runs deep and deadly.
  • Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian round out the guest cast as Lowell, Mia, Al, and Gareth, respectively.

Behind the scenes, it’s a stacked team. Dexter vet Clyde Phillips returns as showrunner and executive producer. Michael C. Hall also executive produces alongside Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. Marcos Siega is back to direct six episodes and will serve as producing director, with Monica Raymund directing the remaining four.

As for Antoinette, this rising Caribbean-American actress is no stranger to intense storytelling. A graduate of NYU Tisch and the British American Drama Academy at Oxford, she brings both classical training and undeniable screen presence to her work. She’s repped by Framework Entertainment.

Menchaca—who’s built a reputation for layered, gritty roles in projects like American Rust, Ozark, and The Outsider—is repped by Independent Artist Group and TMT Entertainment Group.

Plot details for Dexter: Resurrection are still under wraps, but we do know the series picks up after the events of New Blood and continues the story of Harrison Morgan as he navigates his complicated legacy. And if Dexter: Original Sin—Showtime’s prequel series that broke records as the platform’s most-streamed premiere ever—is any indication, this universe isn’t just staying alive. It’s evolving.

From blood-spatter patterns to buried secrets, Showtime’s Dexter remains one of the most genre-defining series in modern TV.
