Regina Hall has joined the cast of Lizard Music, the live-action and CGI hybrid family fantasy film directed and written by Benny Safdie for Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists. She joins previously announced cast members Dwayne Johnson, Theo Clark Leber, Alicia Silverstone and Tim Heidecker.
The film follows a young boy, played by Leber, who is left to his own devices and stumbles upon a secret late-night broadcast of lizards playing otherworldly music. His search for answers leads him to an eccentric old man nicknamed The Chicken Man, played by Johnson, and his beloved companion, a 111-year-old chicken named Claudia. United by a shared sense of wonder, the two set off on an adventure that begins as a hunt for a hidden society and blossoms into a voyage through invisible worlds and an unlikely but unbreakable bond. The film is based on Daniel Pinkwater’s novel of the same name.
Hall will play The Chicken Man’s friend and co-worker.
Hall is coming off a string of high-profile projects. She recently starred in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Oscar-winning One Battle After Another alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro, earning some of the best reviews of her career. She can currently be seen in Peacock’s The Five-Star Weekend opposite Jennifer Garner, Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Chan and Timothy Olyphant, which premiered July 9 and has already become Peacock’s top scripted title of all time, surpassing one billion viewing minutes in its first week. She also recently reprised her role as Brenda Meeks in Scary Movie 6. Upcoming projects include Nick Stoller’s Judgment Day opposite Will Ferrell for Prime Video and Netflix’s limited series Rabbit, Rabbit opposite Adam Driver.
