Regina Hall joins Kelvin Harrison Jr. in the Searchlight Pictures‘ original rock opera O’Dessa which also stars Sadie Sink and Murray Bartlett.

The movie follows the character O’Dessa, played by Sadie Sink, on a journey to retrieve a cherished family heirloom in a post-apocalyptic future. Along the way, she meets her one true love, Euri Dervish, played by Harrison Jr. but in order to save his soul, she must put the power of destiny and song to the ultimate test.
Hall and Bartlett’s role in the film has not yet been disclosed, but sources close to the production have indicated that it will be a significant one. The film, which is set to go into production in Croatia in May, is directed and written by Geremy Jasper, known for his work on Patti Cake$.
The film will feature original songs written and produced by Jasper and Jason Binnick. Michael Gottwald is producing the movie for the Department of Motion Pictures, along with Noah Stahl and Rodrigo Teixeira for RT Features. Exec producers include Jonathan Montepare, Dan Janvey, and Lourenço Sant’Anna.

O’Dessa is set to be released next year, and it promises to be a unique and exciting addition to the Searchlight Pictures lineup. Senior Vice President Taylor Friedman and Creative Executive Cornelia Burleigh are overseeing the project for Searchlight Pictures, reporting to Heads of Production and Development Katie Goodson-Thomas and DanTram Nguyen.
