First of all this Rustin first look is looking good.

Netflix has unveiled the stars transformation in the upcoming biopic “Rustin,” which tells the extraordinary story of Bayard Rustin. Directed by George C. Wolfe, known for his Tony Award-winning work on “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” and produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground Productions, “Rustin” promises to be a compelling and thought-provoking cinematic experience.

Featuring an impressive cast, “Rustin” boasts renowned actors who are expected to deliver outstanding performances. Colman Domingo takes on the role of Bayard Rustin, while other notable cast members include Chris Rock as Roy Wilkins, Glynn Turman as A. Philip Randolph, and Audra McDonald as Ella Baker. Aml Ameen portrays Martin Luther King Jr., and Gus Halper, CCH Pounder, and Michael Potts are among the talented actors who round out the ensemble.

The film also includes Carra Patterson as Coretta Scott King, Adrienne Warren as Claudia Taylor, Bill Irwin as A.J. Muste, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Mahalia Jackson, among others.

The film’s official synopsis, as revealed by the Netflix Media Center, introduces Bayard Rustin as the architect of the historic 1963 March on Washington. Rustin was a fearless activist and organizer who challenged authority and fearlessly fought for civil rights. Despite his monumental contributions, Rustin’s legacy has often been overshadowed. Directed by George C. Wolfe, a DGA Award and Tony Award winner, “Rustin” shines a long-overdue spotlight on this extraordinary individual. Together with iconic figures like Martin Luther King Jr., Adam Clayton Powell Jr., and Ella Baker, Rustin dared to imagine a different world and inspired a movement toward freedom.
