Warner Bros. has officially unveiled the title of Ryan Coogler’s highly anticipated vampire movie, starring Michael B. Jordan: ‘Sinners.’ The title reveal comes with the promise of a trailer dropping tomorrow, September 24.
Scheduled for a March 7, 2025 release, ‘Sinners’ has already generated buzz within the industry. In addition to Jordan, the film features a robust ensemble cast, including Delroy Lindo, Omar Benson Miller, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, Jack O’Connell, Hailee Steinfeld, Li Jun Li, Lola Kirke, Emonie Ellison, Ja’Quan Monroe-Henderson, Yao, Miles Caton, Peter Dreimanis, and Christian Robinson.
According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, the film is set against the backdrop of the Jim Crow-era South, potentially incorporating elements of Southern supernatural folklore, including vampires. There are also intriguing rumors that Jordan may portray twin brothers, which could add complexity to the narrative.
Coogler, known for his groundbreaking work on ‘Black Panther,’ not only wrote the script but is also directing the film. He is producing ‘Sinners’ through his company, Proximity Media, alongside Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. The executive production team includes notable names like Rebecca Cho and acclaimed composer Ludwig Göransson.
This project represents a significant achievement for Warner Bros., which secured the rights after a competitive bidding war, negotiating a unique deal that allows certain rights to revert back to the filmmaker over time. With plans for IMAX screenings, ‘Sinners’ is poised to make a significant impact in the horror genre.
Currently in production in New Orleans, the film’s cast features a mix of seasoned veterans and emerging talents. Stay tuned for updates.
