The reboot of the horror-comedy series ‘Scare Tactics’ is officially set to premiere on october 4 at 10 p.m. ET on the USA Network, with simultaneous airings on Bravo, Syfy, and E!, all NBCUniversal networks. This announcement follows the initial reveal of the show’s return back in july, and now, fans can get an early glimpse with the newly released trailer.
The new version of ‘Scare Tactics’ introduces a unique twist with a fresh host: Flip, a ghostly pre-teen who is both obsessed with horror films and fascinated by the fear of others. As with the original series, this iteration will feature unsuspecting participants being placed in elaborately staged horror scenarios by their friends and family, all captured by hidden cameras. In addition to everyday people, the show will also include special appearances by celebrities like WWE’s The New Day, who believe they’re simply participating in a promotional event with WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes.
Jordan Peele, known for his mastery of blending horror and comedy, is executive producing the series through his Monkeypaw Productions, alongside Win Rosenfeld and Jamal Watson. Elan Gale will serve as showrunner and executive producer, while Scott Hallock, the creator of the original ‘Scare Tactics’, is also on board as an executive producer through WMTI Productions, Inc. The show is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio, in collaboration with Monkeypaw and WMTI.
‘Scare Tactics’ originally aired on Syfy (then the Sci-Fi Channel) from 2003 to 2013, with hosts including Shannen Doherty, Stephen Baldwin, and Tracy Morgan. The series became famous for its wild pranks, such as convincing campers they were under attack by Bigfoot or staging a UFO abduction. The reboot aims to bring the same level of heart-pounding excitement and laughter to a new generation of viewers, and the newly released trailer hints at the thrilling scenarios to come.
