Shaquita Smith, known for her role in AMC’s Wicked City, is set to produce and star in the upcoming action-adventure film Voyage of the Forgotten. Written by Malcom Ali (The Changers), the indie feature appears to be a story filled with mystery, danger, and intrigue.
The film follows a young historian, portrayed by Smith, who sets out on a treacherous quest to locate a fabled adventure gallery ship rumored to be laden with gold. Her journey, however, takes a deadly turn as she becomes ensnared in a web of deception and betrayal.
Voyage of the Forgotten, a TreeHouse Productions film, is scheduled to begin filming in the UK in late spring 2025.
Smith has built an impressive career, with notable performances in projects such as Wicked City, which explores a group of urban witches as they push their powers to the limit while uncovering dark secrets and battling dangerous enemies. Her film credits include My Valentine Crush and its sequel My Valentine Wedding, where she starred opposite Travis Cure (The Oval).
In addition to her leading roles, Smith has guest-starred in numerous television series, including The Best Man: The Final Chapters, New Amsterdam, NCIS: New Orleans, Hap & Leonard, Homicide Hunter, and Survivor’s Remorse.
