Soul Soirée is bringing the heat to Brooklyn this summer with its biggest Monologue Slam yet—and the cast is stacked. The June 30th event will feature powerhouse performances from Dominique Thorne (Ironheart), Jerrie Johnson (Harlem), Daniel J. Watts (Lights Out: Nat “King” Cole, The Penguin), and Adrianna Mitchell, who will star alongside Tracy Morgan in the upcoming Paramount+ comedy Crutch.
Thorne is also making waves this summer as the lead in Marvel’s Ironheart, premiering June 24 on Disney+. Executive produced by Ryan Coogler, the series marks her debut as Riri Williams—a genius inventor and one of the MCU’s newest faces. Her appearance at Soul Soirée’s Monologue Slam adds even more fire to what’s already become one of New York’s most anticipated creative showcases.
Following a sold-out winter show at BRIC that drew over 500 attendees, the summer slam will again take place at the cultural institution’s Brooklyn home. In true Soul Soirée fashion, the night will feature a blend of original and published monologues—from plays, poems, and films—delivered by both seasoned performers and up-and-coming voices.

This year, Soul Soirée has kept the momentum going with major collaborations, including a showcase at Ralph Lauren’s NYC headquarters—the brand’s first-ever internationally streamed in-house performance event.
