In exciting news for Star Trek fans, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been officially renewed for a fourth season. This announcement comes just ahead of the premiere of its third season, which is scheduled for 2025 and is currently in production.

Additionally, it has been revealed that the previously announced fifth season of Star Trek: Lower Decks will serve as its final season. Fans can expect new episodes of the final season, also currently in production, to arrive this fall.

The creators of Star Trek: Lower Decks, Mike McMahan and Alex Kurtzman, shared their sentiments with fans regarding the final season. In a note to fans, they expressed gratitude for the opportunity to bring the series to life and excitement for viewers to experience the upcoming season.

“Five seasons of any series these days seems like a miracle,” they said. “It’s no exaggeration to say that every second we’ve spent making this show has been a dream come true.”

The animated comedy series Star Trek: Lower Decks offers a unique perspective on the Star Trek universe, focusing on the support crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos, one of Starfleet’s less prominent ships. The series features a talented voice cast including Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, Eugene Cordero, Dawnn Lewis, Jerry O’Connell, Fred Tatasciore, and Gillian Vigman.

Star Trek: Lower Decks is produced by CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ animation arm, in collaboration with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Executive producers include Alex Kurtzman, Mike McMahan, Aaron Baiers, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth. The series is exclusively available for streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Latin America.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, a series that explores Captain Christopher Pike’s time on the U.S.S. Enterprise before Captain Kirk’s era, has garnered significant anticipation from fans.
