STARZ is doubling down on the real-life saga behind BMF. The network has officially renewed The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast for a six-part second season — and this time, Terry Flenory is telling his story.
A first-look teaser has dropped, with an extended sneak peek — featuring exclusive interview footage with Terry Flenory — set to release this Friday, June 6, on the STARZ app. The release is timed to coincide with the Season 4 premiere of the hit scripted series BMF.
The docuseries dives deep into the rise and fall of the Black Mafia Family, one of the most notorious drug empires in American history. Season 2 will feature never-before-seen interviews and firsthand accounts from key figures in the real-life Flenory family saga — including, for the first time, Terry “Southwest Tee” Flenory himself.
“BMF has made a profound impact on hip-hop and culture,” said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for STARZ. “Our audience is hungry for more and we’re excited to continue to expand their experience with this true story, featuring the real-life players of BMF, as well as a never-before-heard firsthand account from Terry himself.”
Created as a companion to the scripted drama, The BMF Documentary explores the real origins of brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest Tee” Flenory. The series traces their rise from Detroit’s streets in the early 1980s to their reign as two of the country’s most infamous drug traffickers — and cultural tastemakers.
The scripted BMF series continues that story from a dramatized lens, with Season 4 set to follow the brothers’ expansion and cultural dominance as their empire collides with hip-hop, law enforcement, and legacy.
The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast is executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (also behind the BMF scripted series), along with Shan Nicholson (Rubble Kings), who returns as showrunner. Additional EPs include Razan Ghalayini, Richard Perello, and Stacey Offman, with co-executive producers Khidija Rivera and Jessica Vale, and supervising producer Kenyatta Steans. The series is produced for STARZ by Jigsaw Productions and G-Unit Film & Television.
Both the documentary and BMF Season 4 premiere Friday, June 6 on the STARZ app and across all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms.
