Sterling K. Brown, is set to headline a new series created by This Is Us show’s creator Dan Fogelman — reuniting the two. Less than a year after the popular show’s six-season run, Hulu has given a straight-to-series order for the untitled drama, which will feature Brown as the lead actor and executive producer.

The premise of the show is still shrouded in mystery, but sources suggest that it may revolve around a security guard for a former president. Fogelman quietly pitched his spec script to senior-level executives at 20th Television, where he has a rich overall deal, and Hulu, and the series was greenlit.

Jess Rosenthal, head of Fogelman’s production company Rhode Island Ave. Productions, and John Hoberg will serve as executive producers alongside Fogelman. The untitled series marks a reunion for Fogelman and Hoberg, who previously worked together on the ABC cult favorites Galavant and The Neighbors.

This new series is the second project that Fogelman will executive produce for Hulu. He is also behind Only Murders in the Building, which is part of his overall deal with the Disney-owned 20th Television. Brown, on the other hand, is set to star in the upcoming Hulu limited series, Washington Black, also produced by 20th Television.

Brown, a three-time Emmy winner, is known for his role as Randall Pearson in This Is Us, which earned him three Emmy nominations, one of which he won in 2017. He also won an Emmy in 2016 for his performance in Ryan Murphy’s American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, and for narrating Lincoln: Divided We Stand. He has also been nominated for his guest role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and his supporting turn in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The untitled Fogelman-Brown drama is set to join Hulu’s impressive lineup of original content, which includes The Handmaid’s Tale, The Great, How I Met Your Father, Life & Beth, and This Fool, among others.
