Grab your margaritas and settle in because we’re heading back to Serenity, South Carolina, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, for the highly anticipated return of Sweet Magnolias! Netflix has officially dropped the trailer for Season 4, and it’s packed with heart, humor, and plenty of Southern charm as we catch up with lifelong best friends Helen (Heather Headley), Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), and Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott). The trio will continue navigating life, love, and family while weathering storms—both emotional and literal—in their charming hometown.
This season takes us through the holiday calendar, spanning Halloween to Christmas, with moments ranging from laugh-out-loud joy to tear-jerking heartbreak. While the trailer teases emotional highs and lows, Sweet Magnolias also gave fans a holiday treat by releasing two new songs over the festive season: Heather Headley’s soulful rendition of “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and Dylan Rysstad’s original track, “Margarita Christmas.” These tracks perfectly set the tone for the heartfelt moments awaiting us in Serenity.
Season 3 wrapped with plenty of memorable moments. Dana Sue and her estranged husband, Ronnie (Brandon Quinn), renewed their vows in a touching ceremony surrounded by loved ones. Helen appeared ready to rekindle her romance with Erik (Dion Johnstone), and Maddie found happiness with Cal (Justin Bruening) while preparing to take an exciting step in her career.
However, as fans know, life in Serenity is never without its twists and turns. JoAnna Garcia Swisher teased in an earlier interview that Season 4 will dive deeper into the trio’s journeys. “Even though this season ended with a nice button, it almost feels like it was a necessary button to really dig in deep for the future,” she said. “There’s still so much to be told.”
What Can We Expect in Season 4?
According to showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson, Season 4 will explore love, friendship, and resilience in the face of life’s challenges. “The beating heart of this show is the deep relationship between these three amazing women and how they sustain and celebrate each other,” Anderson shared. “True friendship is a living thing: It has to change and grow as we do. And that’s not always easy. But that’s what makes it beautiful.”
This season will see the women facing old foes, rediscovering lost loves, and evolving cherished dreams, all while the men in their lives pursue personal goals and their teenagers navigate the tricky road to adulthood. Through it all, the Magnolias will lean on each other—and their weekly margarita nights—to weather the storms.
Based on Sherryl Woods’ bestselling novels, Sweet Magnolias continues to be helmed by executive producer Sheryl J. Anderson alongside Daniel L. Paulson, Norman Buckley, and Matt Drake. Filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, the series also features episodes directed by Lauren Petzke, Christine Swanson, Norman Buckley, and JoAnna Garcia Swisher.
Returning cast members include Logan Allen, Anneliese Judge, and Brandon Quinn, ensuring Serenity’s beloved community feels as vibrant as ever.
All ten episodes of Sweet Magnolias Season 4 will debut on Thursday, February 6, 2025, exclusively on Netflix.
So, grab your margarita glass, call up your BFFs, and get ready to toast to the Magnolias’ newest adventures—storms, laughter, heartbreak, and all.
