Diddy also discussed the album's purpose, describing it as "the Super Bowl of R&B" and aiming to unify the R&B community while distinguishing it from hip-hop. He highlighted the emotionally charged tribute track, "Kim Porter," featuring Babyface and John Legend, as a personal message to his late partner. Diddy shared, "I need to pierce the heavens above to get this message to Kim, so she can come and visit me in my dreams." Diddy emphasized the significance of working with Eva Apio, who was chosen after an extensive audition process involving hundreds of candidates. He explained that the film extends the album's soul, focusing on the stories, emotions, and experiences behind each song.
