Paramount+ has unveiled a teaser for the original 2D animated series, “Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” set to premiere this summer exclusively on the streaming platform. The series, produced by Nickelodeon Animation and Seth Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures, is a spin-off from last summer’s blockbuster Paramount Pictures film, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.”
Reprising their roles from the film, the core cast includes Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Brady Noon as Raphael, and Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, who recently secured both a Golden Globe and an Emmy for her outstanding work in “The Bear.”
Set in the same universe as “Mutant Mayhem,” the 2D animated series explores the adventures of everyone’s favorite pizza-loving heroes as they emerge from the sewers onto the streets of NYC. Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey are faced with new threats and team up with old allies to survive both teenage life and villains lurking in the shadows of the Big Apple. Additional cast members are expected to be announced soon, adding depth to the roster of allies and foes.
