Tyler Perry has announced the cast for his latest Netflix project, “Straw.” This tense drama will feature Taraji P. Henson, Sherri Shepherd, and Teyana Taylor in leading roles. Glynn Turman, Sinbad, Rockmond Dunbar, Mike Merrill, Ashley Versher, and Shalet Monique are in supporting roles.
“Straw” follows the story of a devoted single mother who faces a series of unfortunate events, leading her down an unexpected path. As she struggles against circumstances beyond her control, she becomes entangled in a situation she never anticipated, finding herself at the center of suspicion in a seemingly indifferent world.

This project marks another collaboration between Perry and Netflix under their multi-year, first-look deal. Perry, known for his successful track record, including hits like “A Fall from Grace” and “A Madea Homecoming,” will write and direct “Straw,” which is set to be filmed in Atlanta.
Joining Perry as producers are Angi Bones and Tony Strickland. The film adds to Perry’s growing list of projects with Netflix, including the upcoming Second World War period drama “The Six Triple Eight,” and the recently announced drama series “Beauty in Black.”
