Taye Diggs to Lead True Crime Drama Series Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy for BET+

Taye Diggs is set to star in the upcoming true crime film series, Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy, which will debut on BET+ later this year. The announcement was made by Mona Scott-Young of Monami Productions and Eric Tomosunas of Swirl Films, who will produce the series. Courtney Miller will direct the series, with Gregory R. Anderson penning the script.

Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy tells the story of Lance (Diggs), a successful businessman in Atlanta who revolutionized the city’s 911 system and was known for his womanizing ways. When Lance is found murdered in his home, an investigation is launched to uncover the truth behind his professional and personal life. The film will reconstruct Lance’s life as told by the various players in it, revealing questions and allegations surrounding his death.

“Working in partnership with Mona and her team at Monami Productions to produce this film series is certainly a career highlight. This is the beginning of many collaborations that will emphasize important stories that will be told by an extraordinary producing team. We couldn’t be more excited,” said Tomosunas.

Scott-Young expressed her excitement, stating, “I am so excited to collaborate with Swirl Films on our first project, Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy. The film series is a captivating true-life crime story that captures the unique culture of Atlanta. BET has always provided a platform for stories that are authentic and relatable, and we are proud to be partnered with them on this project.”

The series is executive produced by Scott-Young and Tomosunas, with Stodghill serving as co-executive producer alongside Stephanie R. Gayle of Monami Productions and Abbey MacDonald of Swirl Films. Ron Robinson and Keith Neal of Swirl Films serve as producers, with Brian Rikuda and Devin Griffin also producing. Lorisa Bates and Marvin Neil serve as co-executive Producers, while John Baldasare and Noelle Broussard serve as consulting producers for BET Films.

Diggs is represented by CAA. The release of Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy later this year is highly anticipated and is expected to be a gripping true crime series with an all-star cast and production team.
