The Black List script from Justin Varava adds Paul Walter Hauser, Boyd Holbrook, Michael Pena, Will Brill, and Veronika Slowikowska to its growing ensemble, with production underway in Atlanta
Teyonah Parris has joined the cast of Turpentine, Craig Zobel’s upcoming thriller currently in production in Atlanta, Georgia. She joins a newly expanded ensemble that also includes Paul Walter Hauser, Boyd Holbrook, Michael Pena, Will Brill, and Veronika Slowikowska, rounding out a cast that previously announced Melissa McCarthy, Connor Storrie, and Bill Camp. Character details remain under wraps for all new additions.
Based on Justin Varava’s script that landed on the 2024 Black List, Turpentine follows a mother who steps in after her son hires friends to steal the family’s antique gun collection to pay off a debt, setting off a chain of events that pushes the family bond to its breaking point. Zobel, whose recent credits include The Penguin and Mare of Easttown, directs.

The film is produced by Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman’s T-Street alongside Shivani Rawat’s ShivHans Pictures. Producers include Katie McNeill, Ben LeClair, Rawat, Julie Goldstein, and Zobel, with McCarthy serving as executive producer.
