FX’s critically acclaimed series, “The Bear,” is set to premiere its third season in June, as confirmed by FX chairman John Landgraf during the Television Critics Association’s winter 2023 press tour. While details about the upcoming season remain scarce, Landgraf assured fans that the binge-watching model, releasing all episodes at once, would likely continue on Hulu.

“The Bear” stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, an award-winning chef who inherits his family’s Italian beef sandwich shop in Chicago after the suicide of his older brother. Returning to his hometown, Carmen faces the challenges of managing the rundown kitchen, dealing with unresolved debts, and handling an unruly staff while confronting his own pain and family trauma. The supporting cast includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richard “Richie” Jerimovich, Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson.

The series, created by Christopher Storer, premiered on Hulu on June 23, 2022, and quickly became a massive hit for FX. Season 1 took home 10 trophies at the Emmy Awards, including Best Comedy Series and outstanding performances by Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Ayo Edebiri. Season 2 continued the success, securing top honors at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards.

In an interview with Variety, Jeremy Allen White expressed his excitement about the preparation for Season 3, hinting at revisiting the functioning kitchen atmosphere from the first season. White mentioned collaborating with chefs to create a menu for the restaurant featured in the upcoming season.

John Landgraf explained the decision to release all episodes at once, citing the anxiety-inducing nature of the show. He emphasized that maintaining the binge-watching format allowed viewers to experience the beautiful and uplifting ending without interruptions.

“The Bear” follows Carmen’s journey as he navigates the challenges of running the sandwich shop and strives to transform it into a Michelin-star restaurant. Season 2 explored the characters’ personal journeys of self-discovery and self-improvement, culminating in an emotional and eventful finale.

With Season 3 set to premiere on Hulu in June, fans eagerly anticipate the continuation of Carmen’s culinary adventures and the emotional twists that have made “The Bear” a standout series. Landgraf, tight-lipped about Season 3 details, admitted even he was surprised when the Christmas episode with special guests dropped. As anticipation builds, viewers can expect another season filled with humor, drama, and the unique charm that defines “The Bear.”
