Starz has unveiled the trailer for The Couple Next Door, a six-part psychological drama set to premiere on January 17, 2025. Starring Alfred Enoch (How to Get Away with Murder), Sam Heughan (Outlander), Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark), and Jessica De Gouw (Arrow), the series delves into the secrets lurking behind the closed doors of suburban life.
Adapted from the Dutch series Nieuwe Buren, The Couple Next Door follows Evie (Tomlinson) and Pete (Enoch), a young couple eager to start fresh in a posh new neighborhood. They soon befriend their charismatic neighbors, traffic cop Danny (Heughan) and yoga instructor Becka (De Gouw). What begins as casual camaraderie takes a dark turn when boundaries are crossed, leading to a single night that upends their lives forever.
The official synopsis teases a story of “hidden fantasies and desires” that disrupt the idyllic façade of suburbia. As tensions escalate, the trailer hints at romantic obsession, betrayal, and danger, with glimpses of guns, forest chases, and secret motorcycle rides. The dramatic entanglements culminate in life-altering consequences for both couples.
Directed by Dries Vos (Professor T) and written by David Allison (Marcella), the series is a production of Eagle Eye Drama and has already gained popularity following its original run on Channel 4 in the UK in 2023.
