The CW Preps Farewell for ‘All American’ With Special Event Ahead of Final Season Premiere

The CW is officially preparing to close the book on All American with a special retrospective event ahead of its final season.

The network announced Thursday that the long-running football drama will return for its eighth and final season with a two-hour premiere on Monday, July 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Leading into the farewell run, The CW will also air All American: The Final Season Special on Monday, June 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The one-hour special will look back on the series’ most defining moments, relationships, and milestones, celebrating its legacy as a modern sports drama centered on football, family, and friendship.

The retrospective will highlight the journey of the characters who shaped the series across its run, while honoring the show’s cultural impact and emotional storytelling.

Season 8 picks up six months after the Season 7 cliffhanger and unfolds over the course of one week in the lives of Jordan, Layla, Coop, Cassius, KJ, Khalil, Amina, and Preach. As their individual dreams and ambitions collide, long-standing friendships and family ties are pushed to the breaking point.

The final season continues to center the core themes of football, family, and friendship as the characters face decisions that will ultimately define their futures.

The series stars Michael Evans Behling, Greta Onieogou, Bre-Z, Osy Ikhile, Alexis Chikaeze, Nathaniel Logan McIntyre, Antonio J. Bell, Kareem Grimes, and Lauryn Hardy.

Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll described the experience of closing out the series as deeply emotional, calling the cast and crew “family” after eight seasons together and thanking fans for their continued support.

All American premiered in 2018 and has run for nearly 150 episodes, becoming one of The CW’s most recognizable and enduring dramas.
