The ‘Insecure’ 10th Anniversary Tour Has Been Cancelled, But the Celebration Is Still On

It was good news and bad news. In a video message to fans, Issa Rae, Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, Natasha Rothwell and Prentice Penny announced that the 13-date Insecure 10th Anniversary Tour has been cancelled, with busy schedules pulling the cast in different directions.

“We are so sorry we had to cancel the tour. We are also bummed. I’m serious,” Penny said in the video. “But everybody started working, which is good. Unfortunately, our schedules got messed up. But we only wanted to do this if we could all be there and give you the best experience possible.”

The announcement came with a touch of Insecure humor, with each cast member offering their own excuse before passing it off to the next. Ellis was mid-shoot on his new show Rookie: North, Orji tried to dodge the news entirely, and Rothwell joked that she had to carry the announcement just like she carried all five seasons.

The good news is that the celebration is not completely off. The cast will still come together for a special 10th anniversary event on October 8 at YouTube Theater in Inglewood, the city where the show was set and filmed, giving fans at least one night to mark the milestone together.

The tour was originally announced this summer, with stops planned across Philadelphia, Washington DC, Detroit, Boston, Brooklyn, Las Vegas, Oakland, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston and more before closing in Inglewood.
