Popular streamer Tylil is expanding his reach from streaming to the big screen. The content creator has announced he will make his formal acting debut in Get Lite, Teyana Taylor’s feature-film directorial debut, starring alongside Storm Reid. The news went viral after Tylil announced the milestone while broadcasting live with Reid.
Backed by Paramount Pictures and produced by Kenya Barris, Get Lite is a New York City-set dance drama centered around the city’s iconic Litefeet culture and subway dance style. The film follows Storm Reid as a talented but sheltered dance student who finds inspiration, romance and a sense of family in New York City’s underground dance scene.
Taylor produces alongside Barris, Anni Weisband, Reid and Robyn Simpson. Open call auditions for Lite Feet dancers, crews, New York street-style dancers, tumblers, acrobats and specialty trick performers from all five boroughs took place in July at the Harlem School of the Arts.
Get Lite is scheduled to hit theaters August 20, 2027.
