Blumhouse Productions has released the haunting trailer for their latest horror-thriller, The Woman in the Yard, arriving in theaters on March 28. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Black Adam, Jungle Cruise) and written by first-time screenwriter Sam Stefanak, the film offers a chilling tale of grief, survival, and a relentless supernatural presence.
The film stars BAFTA and SAG nominee Danielle Deadwyler (Till, The Harder They Fall) as Ramona, a mother grappling with grief after surviving a tragic car accident that claimed her husband’s life, played by Russell Hornsby (BMF, Fences). The cast also includes Peyton Jackson (Respect, American Refugee) as her teenage son, Estella Kahiha (Will Trent, BMF) as her young daughter, and Okwui Okpokwasili (The Exorcist: Believer) as the enigmatic woman in the yard.
Ramona is left to care for her children in their isolated rural farmhouse while recovering from her injuries. One day, a mysterious figure shrouded in black appears on their lawn, delivering a cryptic warning: “Today’s the day.” As the woman edges closer, her unsettling presence escalates into a terrifying threat, forcing Ramona to fight for her family’s survival.
The film is produced by Jason Blum (The Invisible Man, The Black Phone) and Emmy-nominated Stephanie Allain (Hustle & Flow). Danielle Deadwyler, Jaume Collet-Serra, James Moran, and Gabrielle Ebron serve as executive producers, rounding out a powerhouse team behind the project.
