The actress writes, stars in, and executive produces a story about a mother fighting for her son, and for herself, premiering as part of the network’s Love of a Lifetime slate.
Tisha Campbell isn’t just showing up for her next Lifetime movie, she’s building it. The actress will star in, write, and executive produce One Last Shot, premiering November 14 at 8/7c, adding another layer to a career that’s increasingly about calling the shots as much as taking direction. She’s joined in the cast by Charles Malik Whitfield, Jaden Lucas Miller, and AJ Johnson.
Campbell takes on the role of Joy Walker, a single mother who’s spent her life showing up for everyone but herself, her church, her community, and especially her son Chaz, a rising basketball talent played by Miller. That balance gets shattered when Chaz is diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor, and Joy finds herself fighting insurance companies and doctors while reluctantly leaning on her ex, Royce (Whitfield), just to keep her family afloat.
What the film is really chasing, though, is bigger than the diagnosis. As Chaz’s condition worsens, Joy is forced to reckon with a harder question: who is she, outside of who she’s been for everybody else? With Royce back in her corner and a community refusing to let her disappear under the weight of it all, Joy’s path forward becomes less about fixing her son’s illness and more about finding herself in the middle of it. It’s a story about a Black mother’s exhaustion, her community, and the radical act of choosing herself, without losing the people who need her most.
The project also marks a full-circle moment for Campbell and Johnson, who haven’t shared a screen together since 1990’s House Party, the film that helped launch both of their careers.
One Last Shot lands alongside Terry McMillan Presents: Paradise with You, starring Taye Diggs, Heather Hemmens, and Cynthia Bailey, as part of Lifetime’s growing slate, with more titles still to be revealed.
Fox Entertainment Studios produces, with Adam Shepard, Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pillemer, and Fernando Szew executive producing for the studio. Campbell and Mychael G. Chinn also executive produce, with Dani Wright serving as co-executive producer. Erica Sutherlin, who directed Kirk Franklin’s A Gospel Christmas, takes the helm from a script Campbell co-wrote with Wright. Fox Entertainment Global handles the film’s international rollout.
It’s Campbell’s second Lifetime project of the year, following her lead role earlier in 2026 in Mary J. Blige Presents: Be Happy, continuing a stretch that’s seen her move steadily from screen presence to storyteller.
