Dwight Manfredi is down, but he’s not out. Paramount+ dropped the first trailer for Tulsa King Season 4, and it opens with Sylvester Stallone’s mob boss reflecting on how fast a man’s world can fall apart before turning cold: “If I find out whose fault this is, bad things are gonna happen to bad people.”
The new season picks up with Dwight having lost his empire, and the trailer doesn’t hide how hard that hits him. “Everything I own is gone,” he admits at one point. But defeat doesn’t last long on screen. “I’m not ready to fold,” he says. “I’m gonna get it all back.”
According to the official Season 4 description, Dwight spends the season trying to legitimize what’s left of his operation while protecting his crew from corrupt politicians, new enemies, and a personal loss that hits hard. Every win comes at a cost, though, and the season pushes him back toward the instincts he left behind in New York, turning him into someone Tulsa can’t afford to underestimate.
The trailer gives a good look at Gretchen Mol, who joins the cast as a series regular playing Tulsa politician Amanda Clark. When a reporter asks her point-blank if the mob has arrived in Oklahoma, she doesn’t flinch: “It may have come, but it sure as hell ain’t stayin’.”
Stallone leads a returning cast that includes Martin Starr, Jay Will, Vincent Piazza, Annabella Sciorra, Chris Caldovino, McKenna Quigley Harrington, Frank Grillo, Mike “Cash Flo” Walden, James Russo, Kevin Pollak and Neal McDonough, with Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany also part of the ensemble.
The season’s arrival lines up with a bigger Stallone moment this fall. A 50th anniversary re-release of the original Rocky hits theaters the week of November 7, timed around Amazon MGM’s upcoming I Play Rocky, a biographical drama about the making of the film. Anthony Ippolito stars as a young Stallone fighting to get his underdog boxing script made. That film opens November 6.
