TV One Networks Unveils Exciting 2024 Programming Slate Which Includes a Rev Al Sharpton Biopic

TV One Networks recently presented its programming slate for 2024 during a virtual upfront presentation. The network’s commitment to offering content that resonates with its viewers was front and center in this lineup, which includes a biopic of a living civil rights legend, a new cooking show featuring a famous reality TV family, and a series highlighting up-and-coming hip-hop artists. This ambitious slate aligns with TV One’s goal of celebrating its upcoming milestones: TV One’s 20th anniversary and CLEO TV’s 5th anniversary.

Michelle Rice, the President of TV One and CLEO TV, expressed her excitement for the forthcoming programming, saying, “TV One continues to represent the best of Black entertainment and culture with a diverse offering of both new and nostalgic programming – for us by us.” The network has been dedicated to providing content that authentically reflects the experiences and interests of Black and Brown communities.

Throughout the year, TV One and CLEO TV will mark significant holidays and cultural moments with thematic programming, special events, and partnership opportunities. Some of these occasions include Martin Luther King Day, Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Mother’s Day, Black Music Month, Juneteenth, Black Business Month, Father’s Day, Back to School, National Girlfriends Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, Homecoming at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Kwanzaa. To enhance cross-platform engagement and cultural conversations, the network will continue to invest in digital and social content, amplifying its brand and content across various platforms.

Here are some of the highlights from TV One’s exciting 2024 programming slate:

1. Urban One Honors

Urban One Honors is a star-studded annual event created by Cathy Hughes, the legendary founder of Urban One, Inc. It is now approaching its sixth year and pays tribute to individuals and organizations making significant impacts on society and culture

2. The Al Sharpton Story

This biopic tells the remarkable life story of Reverend Al Sharpton, a globally recognized civil rights leader, politician, minister, and the founder of the National Action Network. The documentary takes viewers from his humble beginnings in Brooklyn to his emergence as a powerful grassroots activist, highlighting his journey of resilience and transformation into one of the most prominent figures in Civil Rights history.

3. Raising Fame

Hosted by Lucille O’Neal and Sonya Curry, the mothers of basketball superstars Shaquille O’Neal, Stephen Curry, and Seth Curry, this series provides candid insights into the families that raised some of today’s biggest celebrities. The show explores the individual paths to stardom of extraordinary individuals, featuring appearances by Nicki Minaj, Magic Johnson, Lil Nas X, Billy Porter, Usher, and Patrick Mahomes, along with their parents.

4. In the Kitchen with Tamar & Evelyn Braxton

This heartwarming series brings the holiday spirit to the screen as mother-daughter duo Tamar and Evelyn Braxton celebrate various holidays with style. From Christmas to Easter, Mother’s Day to Thanksgiving, they share mouth-watering family recipes for all to enjoy. The show promises a delightful culinary journey filled with succulent main courses and delectable desserts.

5. Collab

Hosted by the legendary Doug E. Fresh, this innovative music series pairs emerging artists with established R&B or Hip Hop icons. Audiences will witness the creative process, from recording a new track in the studio to performing it live for the first time. Collab aims to help emerging artists break into the music business while providing established artists with their next hit record.
