Daphne Maxwell Reid and Vernee Watson-Johnson who played on the original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air series, are reuniting on Peacock’s Bel-Air.
Reid and Watson-Johnson will guest star on the dramatic reimagining series under new characters Helen and Janice, respectively, who are members of the Art Council Board of Trustee. In the original 90s sitcom Reid played Will’s (second) Aunt Viv, while Watson-Johnson played his mom.

They will appear in the ninth episode of Bel-Air, which streams Friday, March 24.
“Bel-Air” is a one-hour drama series on Peacock, spanning 10 episodes. It offers a new take on “Fresh Prince,” showing the main character Will Smith’s (Jabari Banks) journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air. As these two worlds collide, Will reckons with the power of second chances while navigating the conflicts, emotions, and biases of a world far different from the only one he’s ever known.

Cassandra Freeman, Jimmy Akingbola, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Simone Joy Jones, Jordan L. Jones and Adrian Holmes round out the Bel-Air cast.
Will Smith, Terence Carter, James Lassiter, Miguel Melendez, Malcolm Spellman, Quincy Jones, Benny Medina, and Andy & Susan Borowitz all serve as executive producers. “Bel-Air” is produced by Universal Television and Westbrook Studios, a division of Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s media company Westbrook Inc. The Season 1 finale streams March 31.
