With two newly launched FAST channels in collaboration with BET Media Group—BET Tyler Perry Comedy and BET Tyler Perry Drama—his extensive catalog is now more accessible than ever. And if you think that means he’s slowing down on new projects, think again.

On top of his current lineup of shows, including Beauty in Black (returning March 6), Sistas, The Oval, House of Payne, Ruthless, All the Queen’s Men, Zatima, Bruh, and Assisted Living, Perry has a stacked slate of new movies and shows on the horizon.

Here’s a look at what’s coming next from Mr. Always Creating:

JOY RIDGE

Joy Ridge

Perry has wrapped filming on Joy Ridge, the third film under his four-picture deal with Amazon MGM Studios.

The film stars Shannon Thornton (P-Valley) and Tosin Morohunfola (Run the World) and follows Joy (Thornton) on a holiday getaway, expecting to meet “the one.” Instead, her journey takes a turn when she meets someone who challenges her entire perspective on life back home.

Filming took place in Colorado and at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, with Perry serving as writer, director, and producer.

Tika Sumpter to Star in and Co-Write Tyler Perry's Italy-Based Rom-Com for Amazon MGM Studios

Sisters in Italy

Tika Sumpter is teaming up with Perry once again for Sisters in Italy, a romantic comedy she co-wrote and will star in for Amazon MGM Studios.

The story follows two estranged sisters who travel to Italy after their mother’s passing, only to discover she owned a charming bed and breakfast in the countryside. As they navigate their inheritance, they embark on a series of posthumous tasks left by their mother, forcing them to reconnect and embrace life more fully.

The film stars Sumpter, Bresha Webb (Run the World), Whoopi Goldberg (The Color Purple), Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters), Godfrey (Regular Black), Giulio Berruti (Downhill), Edmond Laryea (The Blacklist), Sarayu Blue (Expats), and Justin Chatwin (Reagan). Perry directs, with Sumpter co-writing alongside Kemiyondo Coutinho (P-Valley).

 

Duplicity

Perry’s next thriller, Duplicity—formerly titled Black, White & Blue—debuts on Prime Video on March 20, 2025.

Starring Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries), Tyler Lepley (Harlem), RonReaco Lee (Mea Culpa), and Meagan Tandy (Batwoman), the film follows high-powered attorney Marley (Graham) as she investigates the shooting of her best friend’s husband. Teaming up with her private investigator boyfriend (Lepley), she uncovers a web of deceit, secrets, and betrayal.

Additional cast members include Joshua Adeyeye (Ruthless), Nick Barrotta (The Oval), Jimi Stanton (Greyhound), and Shannon LaNier (God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness).

Madea’s Destination Wedding (Netflix)

Madea is heading to the Bahamas! When Brian and his ex-wife Debrah are blindsided by their daughter Tiffany’s engagement to a rapper she just met, chaos follows as Madea and the family crash the destination wedding.

The cast includes Perry, Cassi Davis Patton, David Mann, Tamela Mann, Taja V. Simpson, Diamond White, Jermaine Harris, and Xavier Smalls.

 

Beauty in Black – Part 2 (Netflix)

The second half of Beauty in Black‘s first season drops March 6, 2025.

The drama follows Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) and Mallory (Crystle Stewart) as their lives intertwine in unexpected ways. The cast also includes Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson, Ricco Ross, Steven G. Norfleet, Shannon Wallace, Julian Horton, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Joy Rovaris, Xavier Smalls, Charles Malik Whitfield, Tamera “Tee” Kissen, Ursula O. Robinson, Ashley Versher, and George Middlebrook.

 

Straw (Netflix)

A gripping drama following a single mother whose life spirals after a series of tragic events, leading her into an unthinkable situation.

Starring Taraji P. Henson, Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor, Glynn Turman, Sinbad, and Rockmond Dunbar.

 

R&B (Netflix)

A modern retelling of the biblical love story of Ruth and Boaz, set in Tennessee’s music scene.

Serayah McNeill stars alongside Tyler Lepley, Phylicia Rashad, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Jermaine Dupri, and Yung Joc. Directed by Alanna Brown, with Perry and DeVon Franklin producing.

She the People (Netflix)

A political dramedy about Lieutenant Governor Antoinette Dunkerson, who wins her election only to realize dealing with a sexist governor is just the start of her struggles. Balancing her political career and family life proves to be its own battle.

The series stars Terri J. Vaughn, Jade Novah, Drew Olivia Tillman, Tré Boyd, Dyon Brooks, and Jo Marie Payton. Perry serves as writer, director, and producer, with Angi Bones, Tony Strickland, Niya Palmer, Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Terri J. Vaughn executive producing.

Route 187

Perry extends his BET Media partnership with Route 187, a new crime drama debuting in 2025. Set around the violence happening on a bus route, the series will be executive produced, written, and directed by Perry.

The cast includes Lawrence Robinson, Jerard McWhirter, Bryce Clyde Jenkins, Josef Cannon, Rashal James, Hasani Vibez Comer, Tonia Jackson, and Taylor Simone Mason.

With all of this in the works, it’s safe to say Tyler Perry is keeping the content pipeline full. Whether it’s comedy, drama, romance, or thrillers, there’s something on the way for just about everyone.
