Tyrik Johnson (Dedicated to Morris Burke) has joined the cast of Deadlocked, the new action movie from Amazon MGM Studios, alongside lead star Jamie Foxx, Sasha Calle, KiKi Layne, Luke Hemsworth, and Marko Zaror.
Directed by Nikhil Bhat, Deadlocked follows a grieving former Marine serving jury duty who is pulled back into action when the trial of the century turns into a deadly hostage situation, after the defendant’s daughter seizes the courthouse to free her father. Character details for his role have not been disclosed.
Eric Scot Anderson and Matt Takejiro Bosack wrote the script from an original idea. The film, headed for Prime Video, is produced by Fred Berger for Range, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dave Caplan for C2, and Jamie Foxx for Foxxhole Productions, with AJ Bourscheid, Liz Destro, Paul Currie, and Corinne Foxx serving as executive producers.
Johnson recently filmed Dedicated to Morris Burke alongside Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Kate McKinnon and is one of the leads in the upcoming film The Pig Path. His other credits include The Mally Right Show and Till, along with television roles in The First Lady, Atlanta, and Lady in the Lake. In 2025, he received a YoungStars Award nomination at the BET Awards. He’s repped by Paradigm, Play Management, and Forward Talent.
Zaror, a martial artist and actor best known for John Wick: Chapter 4, The Killer’s Game, and Fight or Flight, next stars in and executive produces Brutal Justice, reuniting him with Scott Adkins and Chilean director Ernesto Díaz Espinoza following their earlier collaboration on Diablo. He’ll also appear in an upcoming Robert Rodriguez film, marking a reunion with the director following Machete Kills. Zaror is represented by Vault Entertainment.
