Watch the Trailer for CBS’s Watson Starring Morris Chestnut

The wait is over! CBS has dropped the first trailer for Watson, starring Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, and it’s giving House meets Sherlock Holmes energy with a twist.

The series picks up six months after the death of Sherlock Holmes, Watson’s legendary partner, who died at the hands of Moriarty. Struggling with his loss, Watson shifts his detective skills from solving crimes to unraveling complex medical mysteries. He now heads The Holmes Clinic for Diagnostic Medicine, assembling a team of brilliant doctors to tackle rare and puzzling disorders.

In the trailer, Watson declares, “Solve a mystery, save a life,” setting the tone for this modern reimagining. But his past looms large, as glimpses of Sherlock’s final moments and Moriarty’s lingering presence remind us that Watson’s story is far from over.

The show premieres Sunday, January 26, 2025, following the AFC Championship Game on CBS (around 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT, depending on the game). After the debut, Watson moves to its regular time slot on Sundays at 10/9c starting February 16, streaming on Paramount+ the same night.

Joining Chestnut in the cast are Rochelle Aytes as Watson’s ex-wife Dr. Mary Morstan, Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Inga Schlingmann, and Ritchie Coster. Created by Elementary’s Craig Sweeny, the show adds a fresh layer to the Sherlock Holmes legacy by blending medical drama with detective intrigue.
