While the film is based on the TV series of the same name, the premise has been changed slightly. Lee Majors starred in the original 1980s show as a stuntman who moonlights as a bounty hunter, but in the new interation Gosling will play a “past-his-prime” stuntman who finds himself on a movie set doubling for a star who once fired him — and who has now vanished.

Duke will portray Gosling’s character’s best friend. Taylor-Johnson is playing the movie star while Hsu is the missing movie star’s assistant. Blunt is cast as a prosthetic makeup artist that has a romantic past with the stuntman.

Producers include Kelly McCormick and Leitch from 87North, and Gosling along with Guymon Casady from Entertainment 360. Production on the film started this week in Australia and is set to come out early in 2024.
