Jesse Williams is heading back to TV will streaming for Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, season 3. The actor joins series leads Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short in a recurring capacity.

Only Murders in the Building centers on three strangers, Mabel Mora (Gomez), Charles Haden-Savage (Martin) and Oliver Putnam (Short) who share an obsession with true crime. However when a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth.

Williams is joining Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building season 3 as a documentarian with a particular interest in the case that Mabel, Charles, and Oliver are working on.

Only Murders in the Building is an American mystery comedy-drama television series created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman. The ten-episode first season premiered on Hulu in August 2021. The series has received critical acclaim for its comedic approach to crime fiction, as well as the performances and chemistry among the lead performers.

Only Murders in the Building, produced by 20th Television, racked up 17 Emmy nominations this past season and won three. The series hails from co-creators and writers Martin and John Hoffman, who executive produce along with Short, Gomez, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal.

Williams is best known for playing Dr. Jackson Avery on Grey’s Anatomy. He played that role for 12 seasons and most recently returned to direct and guest star in a season 19 episode. He most recently earned a Tony Award nomination for his Broadway debut in the Take Me Out revival. He will return to Broadway for the newly extended run of Take Me Out. Up next he will be seen in Your Place or Mine opposite Reese Witherspoon.
