Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is set to star in the action flick Emergency Contact for Warner Bros. Dwayne Johnson and Beau Flynn are producing the project via their production banners. Abdul-Mateen will executive produce as well.
Warner Bros. picked up the project as a pitch from the writing team of Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. The duo wrote the most recent draft of Johnson’s upcoming superhero film Black Adam.

Plot details are being kept underwraps, however, it is described as being a high-concept, high-octane action film set in the underground music scene of Austin, Texas.
Johnson will produce under his Seven Bucks Productions banner along with Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia, while Flynn will produce via his FlynnPictureCo. Scott Sheldon will executive produce Emergency as will writers Haines and Noshirvani. Chanel Bowling will oversee for FlynnPictureCo.

Up next for Abdul-Mateen, he is starring in Candyman and The Matrix 4, both due out later this year. He also will shoot George Miller’s latest Mad Max project, Furiosa as well as reprise his villain role in Aquaman 2.
