Yvette Nicole Brown Joins Suits LA in May Episode + NBC Eyes Another USA Network Show to Revive

NBC is continuing its bold expansion of the Suits universe with an exciting new guest appearance and a potential revival of a fan-favorite series.

Suits LA premiered on February 23, 2025, on NBC. The series follows Ted Black (Stephen Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm, Black Lane Law, is at a crisis point, and to survive, Ted must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Surrounded by a stellar group of attorneys, Ted navigates the complexities of personal and professional lives intertwining while uncovering events from years ago that led him to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.

Yvette Nicole Brown is set to appear in an upcoming episode of Suits LA this May. The actress will play a version of herself in the episode airing on May 4, which will stream the following day on Peacock. The episode, packed with drama and high-stakes legal action, sees Ted (Stephen Amell) racing against time to fulfill a peculiar request from client Patton Oswalt (playing himself). Meanwhile, Amanda (Maggie Grace) teams up with Erica (Lex Scott Davis) to defend a teen star facing serious accusations, while Stuart’s (Josh McDermitt) spiraling personal life leads to a breakdown. Meanwhile, in flashbacks, Ted and Eddie (Carson A. Egan) head to LA for Stuart’s bachelor party.

Bryan Greenberg also stars in teh series while Suits originals Gabriel Macht and Rick Hoffman have reprised their roles as Harvey Spector and Louis Litt in guest roles.

As Suits LA continues to captivate audiences, the series remains in limbo regarding its future. NBC is still deciding whether to renew the show for a second season, alongside fellow freshman series Grosse Pointe Garden Society, Brilliant Minds, and The Hunting Party. An official decision is expected in the coming weeks.

In the same vein of expanding beloved franchises, NBC is reportedly eyeing a revival of the medical dramedy Royal Pains, which originally ran on the USA Network from 2009 to 2016. Mark Feuerstein is set to reprise his role as Dr. Hank Lawson and will also serve as an executive producer. The revival is set years after the original series, with Hank searching for a new purpose in life, ready to tackle what may be his biggest challenge yet.

Royal Pains was a signature series during USA Network’s “Blue Sky” era, a time when the network delivered some of TV’s most memorable shows, including Suits, Psych, and Burn Notice. Along with Feuerstein, Royal Pains featured a talented cast including Paulo Costanzo, Reshma Shetty, and Jill Flint. While Feuerstein’s return has been confirmed, no other original cast members have been attached at this stage.

The revival of Royal Pains follows the successful Suits LA spinoff, a direct result of the Suits franchise’s continued popularity. Suits LA stars Stephen Amell alongside Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis, and Bryan Greenberg, and while the show’s first season is still airing, a renewal for Season 2 remains up in the air.

NBC’s move to revive both Suits and Royal Pains reflects their commitment to tapping into the nostalgia of their “Blue Sky” legacy. And with Peacock expanding the Psych and Monk universes through original movies, it’s clear that this golden era of USA Network programming is far from over.
