8 New Shows Premiering This Fall/Winter to Add to Your Watchlist

ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC have recently unveiled their highly anticipated fall lineups, showcasing a diverse range of shows spanning comedy, drama, and mystery. Of all the shows coming out, from comedies like Poppa’s House and St. Denis Medical to dramas like Watson and Matlock, we’re thrilled about the influx of new projects. These eight standout shows have caught our attention and we’re adding them to our watchlist for the fall/winter season.

Poppa’s House

Monday, 8:30 PM – CBS
Damon Wayans plays the role of Poppa, a legendary talk radio host who faces challenges both at work and at home when a new female co-host (Essence Atkins) is hired and his adult son, played by Damon Wayans Jr., still needs his parenting

Sunday, 10 PM – CBS
This series marks the network’s return to the Sherlock Holmes universe, with Morris Chestnut taking on the lead role of Dr. John Watson. The show, developed by Craig Sweeny, delves into Watson’s life a year after the death of his partner, Sherlock Holmes. In the series he resumes his medical career by heading a clinic dedicated to rare disorders.

St. Denis Medical

The premise of ‘St. Denis Medical’ revolves around an understaffed and underfunded hospital in Oregon, where the dedicated doctors and nurses try their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity. The series aims to provide a humorous yet insightful look into the healthcare system’s complexities through its comedic lens.

Leading the cast of ‘St. Denis Medical’ are David Alan Grier and Wendi McClendon-Covey.

Matlock

Thursday, 9:00 PM – CBS
The new version of Matlock stars Kathy Bates as Madeline “Matty” Matlock, a brilliant septuagenarian who achieved success in her younger years. She decides to rejoin the workforce at a prestigious law firm, where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases.

Matty is assigned to Olympia (Skye P. Marshall), a senior attorney and key rainmaker with a thirst for justice. Olympia’s ex-husband, Julian (Jason Ritter), the son of the head of the firm, is intrigued by Matty and her clever skills. As Matty endeavors to establish herself in her new high-stakes world, she works alongside the firm’s younger associates – the charismatic Billy (David Del Rio) and the uber-ambitious Sarah (Leah Lewis).

High Potential

Tuesdays, 10 PM | ABC
High Potential is based on the popular French detective series HPI. The series is led by Kaitlin Olson and Daniel Sunjata with Javicia Leslie, Judy Reyes, Deniz Akdeniz, and Amirah J rounding out the cast.

Written by Goddard, the remake centers on Morgan (Olson), a single mom with three kids and an exceptional mind who helps solve an unsolvable crime when she rearranges some evidence during her shift as a cleaner for the police department. When they discover she has a knack for putting things in order because of her high intellectual potential she is brought on as a consultant to work with a by-the-book seasoned detective, Karadec (Sunjata), and together they form an unusual and unstoppable team.

Based on the popular Italian show ‘Doc — Nelle tue mani,’ features Molly Parker in the lead role as hard-charging and brilliant Dr. Amy Larsen, Chief of Internal and Family Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. After a brain injury erases the last eight years of her life, Amy must navigate an unfamiliar world where she has no recollection of patients she’s treated, colleagues she’s crossed, the soulmate she divorced, the man she now loves and the tragedy that caused her to push everyone away.

The cast of ‘Doc’ includes Amirah Vann, Jon Ecker, Omar Metwally, and Anya Banerjee in regular roles, with Scott Wolf and Patrick Walker making recurring appearances.

Brilliant Minds

Mondays, 10 PM | NBC
The series follows the work of Dr. Oliver Wolf (Quinto), a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist, and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier — the human mind — while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.

NCIS: Origins

Mondays
“NCIS: Origins,” will be narrated by Mark Harmon and set to begin in 1991, giving viewers the chance to delve into the earlier years of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, portrayed by Austin Stowell. The series follows Gibbs as a newly minted special agent at the NIS Camp Pendleton office, under the leadership of NCIS legend Mike Franks, played by Kyle Schmid.

The series stars Daniel Bellomy, Tyla Abercrumbie, Diany Rodriguez, and Mariel Molino.
