Marvel’s ‘Blade’ Remake Faces Casting Setback as Aaron Pierre Exits Project

Aaron Pierre revealed over the weekend that he is no longer attached to star in Marvel’s ‘Blade’ remake. Mahershala Ali, set to play the titular vampire hunter, remains the central figure in the project, with Delroy Lindo and Mia Goth also starring in the feature, which now has a release date of November 2025.

In a recent turn of events, Aaron Pierre, has revealed his departure from Marvel’s ‘Blade’ remake. Pierre shared the news with Variety during the 55th NAACP Image Awards, stating, “Early on, there were conversations. As the project evolved, I’m no longer part of that — attached.”

Pierre’s departure adds to the series of setbacks and changes that have plagued the development of Marvel’s “Blade” reboot.

Mahershala Ali, set to play the titular vampire hunter, remains the central figure in the project. However, details surrounding Pierre’s now-departed role, along with those of other cast members like Delroy Lindo and Mia Goth, have remained undisclosed.

The “Blade” reboot, announced by Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige in 2019, has been subject to various delays and revisions. The ongoing disruptions, including strikes and production pauses, have led to significant adjustments in the film’s release schedule. Originally expected in 2023, “Blade” is now slated for a November 7, 2025 release date.
