Jenifer Lewis is set to shake things up as a murderer (allegedly) in the upcoming episode of CBS’s ‘So Help Me Todd.’ According to TVLine, Lewis will portray an international opera star named “Jacqueline!” whose dramatic flair knows no bounds. The episode, airing on April 11 at 9/8c, introduces Jacqueline as the estranged mother of Lyle (Tristen J. Winger), a character torn between pursuing music and a legal career.

In this installment, Jacqueline’s larger-than-life persona collides with Lyle’s world, stirring up emotional turmoil wherever she goes. However, the plot thickens when Jacqueline finds herself at the center of a murder accusation, prompting a media frenzy that she skillfully navigates. As described by CBS, Jacqueline embodies the quintessential diva, with Lyle remarking, “The only thing that could kill that woman is flying economy.”

“So Help Me Todd,” created by Scott Prendergast, features Skylar Astin as the titular detective and Marcia Gay Harden as his formidable mother, Margaret. The series follows Todd, a private investigator reluctantly joining his mother’s law firm after past legal entanglements. Despite their differences in approach, Todd’s instincts and Margaret’s adherence to the law form the backbone of their investigative endeavors.

The ensemble cast includes Madeline Wise as Allison, Inga Schlingmann as Susan, and Rosa Evangelina Arredondo as Francey. Tristen J. Winger portrays Lyle, whose dynamic with Jacqueline promises compelling drama in the upcoming episode.

Renewed for a second season in February 2023, “So Help Me Todd” continues to captivate audiences with its blend of legal drama and comedy. Lewis’ notable roles in various television shows post her tenure on “black-ish,” including appearances in “Central Park,” “The Upshaws,” and “Night Court,” as well as a regular role on “I Love That For You.” Most recently, she starred in Jennifer Lopez’s musical drama, “This Is Me…Now: A Love Story.”
