Aleyse Shannon joins the cast of Netflix’s upcoming limited series mystery thriller, The Beast in Me. The series is helmed by Showrunner and Executive Producer Howard Gordon and is created, written, and executive produced by Gabe Rotter in collaboration with 20th Television.

The plot follows Aggie Wiggs, played by multiple Emmy Award winner Claire Danes, an acclaimed author haunted by the tragic death of her young son. Retreating from public life, Aggie is unable to write and is a shadow of her former self. Her life takes a turn when the house next door is purchased by Nile Jarvis, portrayed by Matthew Rhys, a notorious real estate mogul who was once the primary suspect in his wife’s mysterious disappearance. Both horrified and fascinated by Nile, Aggie embarks on a relentless pursuit of the truth, chasing his demons while fleeing her own in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

New character details reveal Hettienne Park as Agent Erika Breton, an FBI agent collaborating with Abbott; Jonathan Banks as Nile’s father, Martin Jarvis; and Deirdre O’Connell as Aggie’s literary agent and close friend, Carol McGiddish.

Aleyse Shannon will portray Olivia Benitez, a city council member staunchly opposed to Nile’s business ventures. Rounding out the cast are Will Brill as Chris Ingram, brother to Nile’s missing wife; Kate Burton and Bill Irwin as Mariah and James Ingram, her parents; Amir Arison as Frank Breton, Erika’s ex-husband; and Julie Ann Emery as Lila Jarvis, Martin’s wife.

The series will be directed and executive produced by Antonio Campos, with additional writing and executive producing by Daniel Pearle. Conan O’Brien, Jeff Ross, David Kissinger, Jodie Foster, and Caroline Baron also join as executive producers under Teakwood Lane Productions, Conaco, and 20th Television.
