The first trailer for the final season of All American has arrived, and it sets up a compelling farewell for the Beverly and Crenshaw crew.
Season 8 picks up six months after the explosive Season 7 cliffhanger, which revealed that Cassius (Osy Ikhile) is Jordan’s (Michael Evans Behling) cousin. His decision to take the Beverly coaching job was far from altruistic. Driven by a long-simmering desire to dismantle the Baker legacy, Cassius had been quietly working to surpass every coaching record his uncle Billy Baker ever held. Though he had a change of heart before the truth came out, Jordan was still reeling from the revelation when audiences last saw him.
The new season unfolds over the course of a single week. Jordan appears to be weighing a major career move while Cassius is struggling over at Beverly. Series veterans Daniel Ezra and Samantha Logan return as Spencer and Olivia, who are now expecting twin girls. The trailer shows Olivia visibly far along in her pregnancy. Among the younger characters, Amina (Alexis Chikaeze) is clearly hiding something after seemingly returning to Los Angeles following her decision to attend boarding school at the end of last season.
Before the final season begins, The CW will air All American: The Final Season Special on June 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The one-hour retrospective will look back on the show’s most defining moments, relationships, and milestones, and will also tease new sit-down interviews with much of the cast.
The two-hour Season 8 premiere follows on July 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The final season follows Jordan, Layla, Coop, Cassius, KJ, Khalil, Amina, and Preach as their individual ambitions push long-standing friendships and family ties to the breaking point.
Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll described closing out the series as deeply emotional, calling the cast and crew family after eight seasons together and thanking fans for their continued support. All American premiered in 2018 and has run for nearly 150 episodes, becoming one of The CW’s most recognizable and enduring dramas. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios in association with Berlanti Productions, with executive producers Carroll, Greg Berlanti, Jameal Turner, Sarah Schechter, and David Strauss.
