Apple TV+ Announces Premiere Date for 'Loot' Season Two [FIRST LOOK]

Apple TV+ has officially announced the premiere date for the second season of “Loot,” a comedy series starring and executive produced by Emmy Award winner Maya Rudolph. Set to debut on Wednesday, April 3, the new season will kick off with two episodes, followed by weekly releases every Wednesday until May 29. Accompanying this announcement, Apple has released a set of first-look images to give fans a glimpse into what’s in store.

The second season picks up a year after the protagonist Molly Wells (played by Rudolph) navigates a highly publicized divorce from tech billionaire John Novak (Adam Scott). Now thriving as the head of her philanthropic organization, the Wells Foundation, Molly is determined to focus solely on her charitable endeavors, steering clear of any romantic entanglements with men. Despite her fabulously single status, Molly relies on her devoted assistant Nicholas (Joel Kim Booster) for unwavering support, even if it means occasionally indulging in a kale smoothie with a splash of gin.

The narrative introduces new dynamics as Sofia Salinas (Michaela Jaé Rodriguez), the pragmatic executive director of the Wells Foundation, faces unexpected challenges when she crosses paths with Molly’s charismatic architect friend, Isaac (O-T Fagbenle). Meanwhile, the camaraderie between Howard (Ron Funches) and Nicholas continues to flourish, and Arthur (Nat Faxon) embraces a carefree attitude post-Molly, symbolized by a somewhat lackluster leather bracelet. As Molly pledges to give away her vast fortune, the Wells Foundation team, including Rhonda (Meagen Fay) and Ainsley (Stephanie Styles), rallies together to support her public commitment.

Created, written, and executive produced by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, “Loot” also boasts executive producers Maya Rudolph, Dave Becky of 3 Arts, and Natasha Lyonne and Danielle Renfrew Behrens of Animal Pictures. Produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, the first season of “Loot” is currently available for streaming on Apple TV+.

Since its launch on November 1, 2019, Apple TV+ has rapidly gained acclaim, becoming the first globally launched, all-original streaming service. With an impressive track record of 453 wins and 2,072 award nominations, including the critically acclaimed “Ted Lasso” and the historic Oscar Best Picture winner “CODA,” Apple TV+ continues to make its mark in the competitive streaming landscape.
