Buffalo 8 has released the official trailer for Atrabilious, a dark comedy mystery-thriller from writer-director William Atticus Parker.
The film’s ensemble cast includes Leon Addison Brown, Whoopi Goldberg, Alec Baldwin, Jeffrey Wright, Mark Boone Junior (Sons of Anarchy), and Evan Jonigkeit (The Night House).
Set against a vibrant and gritty Brooklyn backdrop, Atrabilious follows Steven Joyner (Brown) as he embarks on a harrowing quest to uncover the truth behind his son’s sudden and suspicious death.
As Steven’s search for answers leads him to a shadowy bar called Atrabilious, the trailer teases a world where grief collides with strange characters, cryptic clues, and surreal twists.
Parker, who made his directorial debut with Forty Winks, also produced the film alongside Sabina Friedman-Seitz. The trailer hints at a genre-bending blend of psychological thriller and dark comedy—anchored by a powerful, atmospheric tone and standout performances.
Atrabilious marks Parker’s second feature and a personal story he’s called “a darkly comedic and magical characterization of grief.” A release date has yet to be announced.
