Six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald is the latest to join Amazon MGM’s romantic comedy Love Love, alongside Adeline Rudolph (Mortal Kombat II) and Dylan McDermott (FBI: Most Wanted). Character details are being kept under wraps.
The three join previously announced leads Isabel May and Tyriq Withers in the film, written by Joey Power and Daniel Sweren-Becker. Love Love follows a struggling tennis phenom who falls for a charismatic local ball boy at the US Open, with their unlikely romance potentially being the spark she needs to make it to the finals.
McDonald has most recently been seen in HBO’s The Gilded Age, as well as Ava DuVernay’s Origin and George C. Wolfe’s Rustin. Rudolph is coming off Mortal Kombat II and is currently in production on Netflix’s reboot of 13 Going on 30, with Prime Video’s Reacher spinoff Neagley arriving September 16. McDermott most recently starred in and executive produced FBI: Most Wanted, which ran on CBS for six seasons.
The film enters production in New York this fall. Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum produce for RK Films alongside Ari Lubet and Jonathan Berry for 3 Arts Entertainment. Power, Withers, May and Alyssa Altman executive produce.
