Brandon Scott (“Girls on the Bus),” is set to star alongside Krsy Fox of “Terrifier 3” fame in the upcoming horror film “Big Baby.” The movie is directed by Spider One, also the frontman of Powerman 5000, and produced by his horror-focused company, OneFox Productions. Screen icon Cher is among the executive producers, adding a touch of star power to the project.
“Big Baby” revolves around Adam Lewis, a successful horror screenwriter portrayed by Scott. Struggling with writer’s block, Adam experiences a vivid and horrifying nightmare in which a man dressed in a baby mask and onesie brutally murders his girlfriend, Kate (played by Fox). This gruesome vision fuels Adam’s creativity, but as he delves deeper into his new script, the line between fiction and reality blurs. The monstrous “Big Baby” (Adam Marcinowski) begins to manifest in the real world, exacting bloody revenge and targeting Adam’s acquaintances. Characters from Adam’s screenplay come to life, pleading with him to alter their grim fates, leading to a terrifying and surreal battle for control.
The cast is rounded out by Jordan Elsass, Radek Lord, Torio Van Grol, Kate Freund, Cameron Cowperthwaite, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Nelson Leis, and Chaz Bono. One and Fox are producing under the OneFox banner, with Bono, Tyler Connolly, Terry Poor, and Wendy and Mark Berry joining Cher as executive producers.
Spider One explained his vision for “Big Baby,” stating, “My goal was to turn the slasher genre inside out, crafting a meta script about creation and those creations coming to life. It’s a terrifying premise centered around a writer desperately trying to control the narrative of his script and his life, which of course proves to be an impossible task with deadly consequences.”
Scott, also seen in series like “The Girls on the Bus,” “Goliath,” and “This Is Us,” brings a wealth of experience to the role. Fox, a horror genre veteran, adds her unique flair, having worked with Spider One on “Bury the Bride” and “Allegoria.”
Spider One’s directorial journey began with the horror anthology “Allegoria,” followed by “Bury the Bride” and the forthcoming “Little Bites.” “Big Baby” marks his fourth feature film, promising to push the boundaries of horror with its meta-narrative and chilling premise. The film is set to deliver a unique twist on the slasher genre, making it a highly anticipated release for horror enthusiasts.
