bridgerton season 3 trailer

From the hallowed halls of Regency London comes a tale of friendship tested by the allure of romance…

The trailer for Bridgerton season three has arrived. The spotlight in this season is on Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton as they navigate the complexities of friendship and romance in Regency-era society.

One of the notable aspects of the trailer is the continued celebration of diversity within the show. From its inception, Bridgerton has been commended for its inclusion efforts, starting with introducing a Black duke as the leading man in its first season. Season three expands on this commitment by featuring a broader representation of diverse couples and characters in prominent roles.

Characters like the boxer Will Mondrich, portrayed by Martins Imhangbe, his wife, Alice Mondrich (Emma Naomi), and Lady Danbury, played by Adjoa Andoh, contribute depth and richness to the storyline. While the Penelope-Colin narrative is expected to draw significant interest, there’s equal excitement about exploring the journeys of characters from different backgrounds.

The trailer delves into Penelope and Colin’s collaborative efforts as they embark on a quest to find Penelope a suitable husband. Their partnership unfolds against a backdrop of societal expectations and personal realizations, setting the stage for an engaging storyline that intertwines themes of love, friendship, and self-discovery.

From Shondaland and new showrunner Jess Brownell, “Bridgerton” Season 3 — based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling books — finds Penelope Featherington finally giving up on “her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season.” The episodes will unfold much like the events of “Romancing Mister Bridgerton,” the fourth book of Quinn’s period-set novels.

Filmed in London, the series hails from executive producers Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica and Chris Van Dusen. Other returning series regulars include Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton), Lorraine Ashbourne (Mrs. Varley), Hannah Dodd (Francesca Bridgerton), Simone Ashley (Kate Sharma), Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton), Harriet Cains (Philipa Featherington), Bessie Carter (Prudence Featherington), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Martins Imhangbe (Will Mondrich), Will Tilston (Gregory Bridgerton) and Polly Walker (Portia Featherington).

Plus, new key cast members include Hugh Sachs (Brimsley), Emma Naomi (Alice Mondrich), Kathryn Drysdale (Genevieve Delacroix) and Sam Phillips (Lord Debling), who will compete for Penelope’s attention.

Netflix has divided the season into two parts, with Part 1 premiering on May 13 and Part 2 following on June 13.
