BET+ is bringing the laughs back for Season 2 of Churchy with a stacked lineup of new faces. Jasmine Luv has signed on in a recurring role, while Kirk Franklin, Keith Lee, Affion Crockett, Norman Towns, Ramona Rideout, and Corey Calliet are all set to make guest appearances.
Created by Kevin “KevOnStage” Fredericks, Churchy follows Corey Carr Jr. (Fredericks), who thought he was next in line to take over his father’s mega-church—until he wasn’t. Determined to prove he’s got what it takes, he heads to Lubbock, Texas, to build his own ministry from the ground up. But what he quickly learns is that small-town church life comes with its own set of wild challenges, making the road to leadership just as hilarious as it is humbling.
Luv joins the series as Breanna “Bree” Beverly, the warm-hearted owner of a local diner who serves up more than just good food—she becomes a trusted confidante and possible love interest for Pastor Corey.
They’ll all be joining returning cast members Mark J.P. Hood, Quin Walters, Tahir Moore, Lexi Allen, Anthony Elfoniza, Nic Few, Tony Baker, and Tabitha Brown for another season of church drama and comedy.
Who’s Playing Who in Season 2:
- Kirk Franklin as Freight Train, an inmate with Hollywood-sized dreams.
- Affion Crockett as Carl Kruz, an over-the-top MC who may or may not be rigging the Bible Bowl.
- Norman Towns as Niles Burton, a movie star still stuck on Pastor Carr’s ex-fiancée.
- Ramona Rideout as Cindi Strong, a small-town journalist whose off-camera antics are just as dramatic as her reporting.
- Corey Calliet as Big Ray, a pest control expert who helps Pastor Carr out of a sticky situation.
- Keith Lee as himself, stopping by to give Bree’s cooking his official rating.
Fredericks is just as excited as the audience to see Luv join the cast, sharing in a statement:
“Jasmine Luv is a fantastic example of an actress who began on social media and successfully translated her talents to the screen. She brings an incredible work ethic, passion, comedy, and heart to the show, and working with her has been an absolute pleasure. She’s got a very bright future ahead.”
Churchy is produced by KevOnStage Studios in partnership with LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Company. Melissa Fredericks, Jamal Henderson, and Lezlie Wills also serve as executive producers, with Richard A. Washington and David Murphy returning as lead writers.
With new faces, bigger laughs, and plenty of church chaos on the way, Season 2 of Churchy is about to turn things up a notch. Stay tuned for the premiere date
