The first season of ‘Hijack’ was initially conceived as a standalone limited series. It became a breakout hit for Apple TV+, ranking among the streamer’s most-watched dramas and inspiring numerous imitators. Told almost in real-time across seven episodes, the story followed negotiator Sam Nelson, played by Elba, as he tried to thwart a hijacking while flying from Dubai to London. The cast also included Archie Panjabi, Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Ben Miles.

The series is executive-produced by Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash of 60Forty Films, alongside creators George Kay and Jim Field Smith, with Field Smith’s own production company Idiotlamp Productions also involved. George Kay and Jim Field Smith, who spearheaded the show’s creation, will return, with Smith continuing his role as lead director and Guy Bolton as the lead writer.

Along with the plot we are unsure if any of the season 1 cast outside of Elba will return for the second season. Stay tuned for updates.
