Prime Video has dropped the first look images of its upcoming comedy series Clean Slate. The series stars Emmy-nominated actress Laverne Cox and comedy legend George Wallace alongside an ensemble cast featuring Telma Hopkins, D.K. Uzoukwu, Jay Wilkison, and Norah Murphy. Clean Slate will will debut all eight episodes on Thursday, February 6, 2025 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The series follows Harry (Wallace), an old-school car wash owner in Alabama who is reunited with his estranged child after 17 years. Harry is surprised to discover that the child he once knew as a son has returned as Desiree (Cox), a proud trans woman. Their reunion sets the stage for a heartfelt comedy that explores family, love, and second chances. As Harry and Desiree work to rebuild their relationship, the series introduces a colorful cast of characters, including Desiree’s childhood best friend Louis (Uzoukwu), the closeted choir director, and Mack (Wilkison), Harry’s employee and a single father to his 10-year-old daughter, Opal (Murphy).
Clean Slate was created by Laverne Cox, George Wallace, and Dan Ewen. Emmy winners Norman Lear and Brent Miller serve as executive producers, with Ewen co-showrunning alongside Simran Baidwan. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Lear’s Act III Productions and Laverne Cox Productions.
Clean Slate brings together a multigenerational cast to tell a story about love, forgiveness, and finding common ground. As Harry and Desiree reconnect, they tackle their differences with humor and heart, creating a relatable exploration of family and acceptance.
