Peacock is set to debut its latest original film from Maverick Entertainment, Nothing Even Matters, a gripping drama that delves into crime, survival, and redemption. The film, written by J. Carter (The Comeback, I Hate I Love You), is directed by Daniel Stearns and will be available exclusively on the streaming platform starting Friday, December 20.
The cast includes Brad James (Shirley), Kearia Schroeder (I Hate I Love You), Reginae Carter (Boxed In 1 & 2), Charmin Lee (Uglies), and Duane Finley. The project is produced and distributed by Maverick Entertainment.
The story centers on Travis Boyd (Brad James), a man seeking a second chance after serving five years for a victimless crime. Upon his release, Travis is taken in by an old acquaintance, Benny Johansson, and her mother, Belinda. Initially offered a life of luxury, Travis quickly learns their benevolence masks a darker reality—a life entangled in crime and murder.
Caught in their web of deception, Travis is drawn into their world against his will. But his resolve to escape intensifies when he meets Bear, a woman trapped in a similar situation. Together, the pair form a desperate plan to leave their troubled pasts behind, assuming new identities in a different city.
Their quest for freedom, however, is fraught with danger. Belinda and Benny are determined to protect the secrets of their criminal empire at any cost, launching a relentless pursuit of the two. For Travis and Bear, survival means outsmarting their pursuers while confronting their own past traumas. Their journey becomes not only a fight for their lives but also for the love and future they yearn to create together.
