Comcast to Launch StreamSaver Bundle, Offering Peacock, Netflix, and Apple TV+ at Deep Discounts

Comcast StreamSaver Bundle

Comcast is gearing up to shake up the streaming landscape with its latest offering, the StreamSaver bundle. Scheduled for launch later this month, this three-way bundle will feature Peacock, Netflix, and Apple TV+ at significantly reduced prices, according to Comcast chief Brian Roberts.

Roberts unveiled the news at the MoffettNathanson 2024 Media, Internet, and Communications Conference in New York on Tuesday. The StreamSaver bundle, named with an eye toward cost-conscious consumers, will be accessible to all Comcast broadband and TV customers.

While specific pricing details were not disclosed, Roberts emphasized that the combined offering will be competitively priced compared to existing market rates. This strategic move aims to enhance consumer value while also redirecting revenue from other streaming competitors toward Comcast’s broadband services.

“This is the latest iteration of our successful bundling strategy, which we’ve been refining for 60 years,” Roberts commented. “I believe this will be an enticing package for our customers.”

Currently, obtaining all three streaming services separately involves subscribing to Peacock Premium with ads ($5.99/month, increasing to $7.99/month in July), Netflix Basic with ads at $6.99/month, and the standard Apple TV+ plan for $9.99/month. It’s important to note that eligibility for Comcast’s StreamSaver discount requires existing subscriptions to Xfinity Internet and/or Xfinity TV.

Comcast’s announcement follows a trend in the industry where major media companies are forming bundled offerings. Recently, Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled their own three-way bundle featuring Max, Disney+, and Hulu, set to launch this summer in the U.S. with pricing details forthcoming.

Furthermore, a joint venture between Disney, WBD, and Fox Corp. aims to introduce a sports-focused streaming bundle including ESPN+ and linear TV networks this fall. This move has sparked debate among critics, with concerns raised about potential antitrust implications.

As the streaming landscape continues to evolve, consumers can expect more innovative bundles and competitive offerings from industry leaders seeking to capture market share and redefine the streaming experience.
